Stay away at all costs (unsafe!)

Years at this apartment:
2002

2003
Bad experience from the start, when they lost the check for my security deposit. Then we couldn't get keys to the place. The problems continued throughout my stay. There were something like 8 breakins in the building while I lived there, but management didn't want to hear about it.
Let me say that again. I wasn't there very long (less than 18 months), and the building was broken into *8* times. That's one breakin every 2 months. Do you want to take that risk'
Other problems: there were critters in the basement, trash wasn't taken care of so it piled up, sidewalks and entrances weren't shovelled after snowstorms, and so on. The heat would either fail entirely (usually at night) or fail to go off (the apartment was over 100 degrees during Thanksgiving weekend 2002). Getting maintenance to come for anything was virtually impossible. The office staff seems to have pretty high turnover. Somehow they manage to consistently hire the dumbest people I have ever talked to. They're unhelpful and unfriendly as well, but most of all they're astoundingly DUMB. It's like talking to a 2 year old.
The apt itself was deteriorating (peeling paint, dirty/old appliances, warped floors, and so on). We thought the location was good though (it wasn't - see the part about 8 breakins, above).
When we left, we talked to a number of realtors to find a new place. None of them had anything good to say about Investments Limited, and several of them have a policy not to rent any Investments Limitied properties. If that's not damning I don't know what is.
In sum, stay away AT ALL COSTS.
