I absolutely hate my apartment, but am there because I got stuck in a very last-minute situation. Other than the maintenance guys (who could probably care less), I highly doubt that the landlord has even seen a PICTURE of this place for at least 10 years. I also doubt that the agents have seen the apartment for 10 years, otherwise, they might do something about fixing it. When I moved in - painting is absolutely horrid, nothing was clean, there were no face plates on the electric outlets or the lighswitches. Things are falling apart, broken, and the place is just generally a piece of crud.

While I have called maintenance a bunch and they have actually always responded quickly, the point is that these guys should have cleaned this place up before we even moved in. There should have been WORKING SMOKE DETECTORS before I moved in. There should not be peeling red paint in our living room. The "wood" floor in the living room should be separating from itself so much that an entire chunk has to be covered by a carpet.

Whoever the woman was who also dealt with my lease - she was awful. She was rude and crass and gave me a "look" when I asked her if everything that was wrong with the apartment (that I had seen before I moved in) would be fixed by the time I got there. (It wasn't)
