some improvement, but a long way to go From: -Anonymous- Date posted: 10/31/2005 Years at this apartment: 2005 - 2005   when i first moved in, IL was atrocious. For example, my heat was broken for the entire winter of 2003 - 04. The maintenance staff insisted there was no problem, however, the ice on the insides of my windows dictated otherwise. After repeated calls to fix it, the landlord told me he would start charing me everytime the maintenance staff came out. He also used a few colorful euphemisms which I won't repeat here, but suffice it to say he lost his job shortly thereafter. His replacement has been doing a much better job, however, there have still been plenty of broken promises, filthy stairways, and other problems which one would not expect, based on the rent they are asking. chances are you could do better with another landlord, or just buy your own place. these guys suck.
