Not a very well-maintained place. Old, dusty, dirty apartments. Try moving the oven and looking behind!

Inefficient heating system.

Dim lighting. Got my bicycle wheel stolen from right in front of the door. Bunch of kids cut through two locks after two attempts. Caught kids fiddling with the fuel tank caps on the cars parked on-street.

We lived there for two years (2003-2005) because the location was convenient. The stairway was very narrow, especially at the top floors. We could not even fit a two-seater sofa and queen bed boxframe into the apartment. We actually saw somebody use a crane service to lift their furniture into/out of their living room through a window!

The windows leaked cold air for the entire first winter. Thick ice would condense on the inside of the windows. Later, we were told to use plastic sheet insulation and get reimbursed for the same. We did this successfully the second winter, but the sheets cut off access to the windows. You cannot open them on warmer days. They replaced the windows after the third winter had begun.

Mice all over the place. Traps would always catch something every day or two. Prepare for a symphony as mouse-couples dance on your pots and pans at night!

Management almost never replied/responded to phone conversations. We resorted to faxing them our concerns/complaints/repair requests. Some were fixed, others were not. Staff were always changing.

There was one very friendly and efficient maintenance guy named Robert, but I can guess his work-load!

We moved out when they raised rents (again), citing rising "operating costs". However, they offered much lower rents to prospective tenants. They were casting our small 2-bedroom apt as a "1-bed plus office"
