You can do better From: -Anonymous- Date posted: 7/11/2004 Years at this apartment: 2004 - 2004   I moved into KBL with my MIT buddies. The unit we took was overpriced, but management let us put six people into a big townhouse unit, so the rent became reasonable. Location is convenient to Star Market, Central Square, and MIT, but the neighborhood to the north is a little sketchy. There were some armed robberies on Pearl St. while we were living there, but at least management fully disclosed the crime risk. Also, you see the KBL security team all the time, so I felt relatively safe in my unit. Kelly, the leasing agent when we moved in, was completely incompetent and we almost didn't get to move into our apartment. I don't think she works there anymore, however. Justin, the property manager, is a good, competent man to deal with. We also had package issues like some of the earlier reviewers. One of my roommates had a box of fruit that was shipped to him spoil in the offices of 91 Sidney. Our keys also didn't work in our side door at first and it took maintenance about a month to fix. I don't think our unit had A/C, so I wouldn't want to live there during the summer. Also, in January our apartment was frigid, even though we had the heat on full blast. Parking is a nightmare around there...not a good place if you own a car. We had some noise issues with our neighbors, which sometimes woke me up on the weekends. I think management is trying to improve the place, but you can do better for the money.
