The building manager, Barbara White, is a mean spirited, nasty, vindictive old hag who takes her personal frustrations out on the tenants and the staff. She will call you up at work and harass you about violations of her so-called rules. There is no excuse for her bothering you at work except to embarrass you - even collection agencies are not allowed to harass you at work. Far from a luxury building, this place is more like a prison run by an evil warden!

She also discriminates against some of the elderly tenants. There are elderly people in the building who have low rent apartments dating back to the days when the building was used for low income housing. Barbara uses every trick in the book to drive them out so she can raise the rent to market rates. She recently used a technicality to drive out an elderly, handicapped woman who had lived in the building for over 20 years. That's the kind of person she is.

For a luxury building, this place is very rundown. They're always shutting off the water or the heat or fumigating for insects. People also get stuck in the elevator.

For what it will cost you to live here, you can find a nicer apartment in a much better location.

Rules in this building are very reasonable, and generally very well posted. While Barbara may be a bit strict, even militant, there is no denying that this is a very well-run building. If rules were not enforced, then this place would become a college dorm/frat-house. If that is the kind of building you want to live in then this is not the place for you.

Also, why this reviewer complains about the water shut-offs/fumigations, I don't know. What it means is that the staff is constantly repairing or maintaining the premises. I have called on maintenance a few times since I moved here and I cannot recall one instance when the problem was not addressed within the hour, if not immediately. Even when one of the times I called was on a holiday (thanksgiving).

Absolutely agree with the first responder. There are alot of college kids here that, if allowed to violate the "rules" set by the manager, would turn this place into another dorm, driving out the elderly folks and tenants with families/children. This is one of the best run buildings my family and I have ever lived in. The rules are clearly posted and clearly enforced.
