BEWARE THIS PLACE IS THE DUMPS!!

Montcalm is the worst place I have lived in, not only does the Admin treat people like idiots, but they are liars, cheats and thieves.

My girlfriend moved in to a 1 bedroom apartment on the 4th floor in June of this year, she was supposed to get the second floor, but the day before she is supposed to move in she receives a voice mail on her cell phone asking her to call the office back ASAP. She called them back to find out that the apartment she was supposed to get on the 2nd floor was no longer available and the only place that had open was on the 4th floor.

Well, neither myself or my girlfriend were happy at all, but there was nothing that she could do, because at the time I was over seas in Iraq and she HAD to move out of her place, because it was being ripped down, so she took the 4th floor. Come to find out the reason why she could not have the 2nd floor is because the Secretaries daughter got it instead, even AFTER my girlfriend put a deposit down and paid first and last.

All was good for about 2 weeks....then all hell broke loose.

I got home from leave July 1 to find a repair man inside of Mine and My girlfriends apartment LOOKING THROUGH THE CABINETS. Here is the kicker, his work order was for the 3rd floor, NOT the 4th floor. I called the main office to complain and was told that

"it was a mistake and it happens from time to time and they were sorry"

I was super upset, but I marked it up as a MISTAKE. Not a week later I come home to find a letter under my door from the front office. So I open it up and it is telling me that the deposit check was sent back due to insufficient funds and there was a copy of the check........... IT WAS NOT OURS!!!!! They were supposed to put it under the neighbors door, but for some reason it had my apartment number on it.

Again I called the main the office and told them and once again they told me the same thing

"it was a mistake and it happens from time to time and they were sorry"

So far I found out that the front office does not know there A** from their elbow.

No sooner does that mess end, before another one starts. About a week later I was taking a shower and noticed that there was a little bubbling around the base of the toilet while I was drying off. Upon closer inspection I noticed that the was NO SEAL around the toilet, as if that was not bad enough I also noticed that there is NO nuts holding the toilet down. So need less to say I called the office for a repair. Well at 9:30 the next morning the maintence guy shows up to take a look at it. Not 5 minutes into him looking at it he asks me why I took the nuts off' That was it, that was the nail in the coffin for me, I went off.

This guy was blaming ME for them NOT sealing the bowl from water and the missing nuts! I let him do what he had to do and told him to leave. 2 days later I get a call from the CORP office telling me that I need to pay $800 for a new floor because I TOOK the nuts and seal off of the toilet and water had seeped under the wood and ruined it. I FLIPPED OUT and hung up the phone, right away I contacted my lawyer and the front office.

I told the front office the same thing that I told the CORP, to pretty much screw off and we are going to court and I'm not paying rent until this is cleared up. Then the Secritary tells me that I must have done it, because the inspection paper I turned in didnt have any of the issues listed, so I MUST have done it. I went on to ask her why in the world I would remove the nuts and seal on a toilet, and her response was

"I dont know, WHAT ARE YOU HIDING'"

I just hung up the phone after that.

So here we are today going to housing court because of none payment of rent and my lawyer does not feel confident that it will turn out my way, but honestly I don't care, because I will be out of here and they can take me to court all they want, because I WILL NOT pay for this, because I did not do it, so let them sue me all they want.

In addition to all the hell I have gone through with the front office and my apartment being a total crap shoot, this place is over all crap.

There is no painting, you cant use screws in the walls, the pool can only have about 5 people in it at a time, the noise level is nuts because if the bar about 50 yards away, the elevator is ALWAYS broken, if you want to wash your clothes it is $3 a load and there is only 7 washers, There is little to no light out side and is very unsafe, the sliding windows squeak so loud IT WILL wake you up.
