After reading the last few posts, I feel I need to put in my two cents. I've lived at Oxford Court for 3 years. The current management has been trying hard to improve things in the building. The manager is very friendly and accomodating - even delivering packages to my apartment. I've never had a problem with any maintenance in my apartment - things are usually fixed within a day or two after I put in my request. The elevators have been repaneled and are regularly recarpeted to keep them clean. Yeah, there has been some recent problems with some of the water pipes, but they've been proactive in getting the repairs made. I've never felt unsafe walking in the parking lot after dark. As for the postings about drug deals and drunks - I've never seen any evidence of that. I agree that the security at the secondary doors is an issue, but that's due to residents who prop the doors open with rocks or who don't make sure the door is shut behind them. I've called the police a couple of times over the years when teens were vandalising the alley door and some exit signs - they showed up right away to check things out and regularly patrol the parking lot during the night. I don't think you can blame the management for the irresponsibilities of tenants. Maybe folks should keep a better eye on their kids and not let them run wild through the place. There's a huge mix of people from all walks of life, all ages, all ethnicities. The pros outweigh any cons in my experience here.
