I lived in 1200 Adams building for 8 years. I'm rather picky about cleanliness when I move into an apartment; this is the only place I have ever rented where I was absolutely unable to find anything that needed recleaning. The high ceilings (11ft.) and salvaged beams gave the apartment character. I rarely needed repairs but when I did, the maintenance staff was wonderful. I don't think I ever waited more than 24 hours for a repair and the only way I could tell that they had entered my apartment was from the calling card. My heating and cooling bills were very reasonable although they went almost doubled during my stay reportedly in response to the rising cost of fuels (highest was about $70.00).

Potential Drawbacks: I had a one bedroom that was rather small for the price. The management changed twice while I was there and the friendliness of the office team varied accordingly. Similarly, while almost everyone was very friendly, there were a few people with "attitudes" that would make a point of being rude unnecessarily. Once or twice someone stole something from my laundry: a laundry bag that was later returned when I left a note requesting it and expensive slacks. The parking was adequate with the lot located across the street; they installed security cameras before I moved out but it was rather creapy arrive there alone late at night.

Overall, I move out about two years ago and because of job changes I have moved twice since then. All things considered, I have not found a quality rental experience that equaled my stay at Baker's this includes the luxury building that I lived in for the past year.
