I just moved into harbor point apartments and I like a lot off things so far. The apartments are huge and modern and the grounds are very well-maintained.
The things that I do not like are .. .
1. The fact that the so-called gate is often left open at night so that anyone could drive in. That to me defeats the whole purpose of the gate itself and supports the idea that its there only to support a false sense of security. Is it still gated if the gate is always left open' Even when someone is there, they often just let anyone drive past.
2. The digital cable situation is atrocious. Comcast says Harbor Point refuses to let then upgrade the lines, HP says comcast has yet to make an offer. Who is lying' nobody knows. I just know that I kept getting bounced back and forth with no concrete answers. Not to mention i couldn't get direct tv because I was on the wrong side of the building.
I resent the underlying tone of a lot of the messages posted here. Many of them refer to "gangs" and "ghetto kids" and "not the right kind of people." yes i see some kids hanging around outside. I am 21 and remember doing that too with my friends not too long ago. I am now a software engineer at Raytheon, currently working on my masters in computer science. But I am sure that many of you drove past me when I was a teenager hanging with my friends outside and thought of me as a "ghetto", "gang-member", loitering the streets, with my "no good" friends who were all going "no where". Maybe some of you need to look at yourself and figure out some of the "real" reasons that you feel the way you do.
Overall, after a month, HP has been a great place to live despite the cable problems. I felt safe before but i will be a bit more cautious now after reading these postings about robbery and muggings. Though I've never heard of one from anybody that I know that lives here vWhRVi5nYYIuEh4W7K3l
