I'm not sure why there are so many negative reviews of Harbor Point. I love it here, even though it does have it's ups and downs. The stuff about it being dirty and noise and all that must REALLY depend on where you live. I live with my husband in an apartment above townhouses, and we've been very comfortable.

Positives:

- Maintenance and Management Office are ultra-fast and very efficient. They've answered the phone right away, and fixed whatever problem we had the same day or within a few days. I called maintenance once and they knocked on the door 20 minutes later! I was shocked and had to get dressed because I wasn't expecting them to come right over.
- They have efficient processes for tenant issues. My husband lost his keys once and I got locked out that day. I talked to management and they had new keys made and waiting for me by the time I got home from work THAT DAY.
- Gotta LOVE the view and Harbor walk. I've walked, roller bladed, and biked. It's absolutely beautiful for this urban area.
- I love that there's a pool, two in fact. They are clean and well staffed.
- I love that there is a fitness center, even though it's small
- I'm glad for the pizza shop and convenience store, even though they could use renovation.
- I feel safer than I do in most parts of Boston - as a woman I feel safer walking around Harbor point at night than I do in Cambridge. No one bothers you and there are armed police around all the time.
- The apartment is clean, well renovated, very well insulated (no horribly hot rooms, no rooms that won't heat and stay cold all the time). They repaint every time someone moves. It's also very secure- with a metal door and solid deadbolt, and secondary door to the outside.

Negatives:

- The fitness center could use some upgrade and expansion- it's small for the number of tenants they have, and the equipment is aging.
- Teenagers with nothing to do hanging out on corners and at the convenience store. This is not really an issue that would affect your life, it's just annoying.
- There can be noise. I don't know what building people live in that you can hear though the walls- but we can't even hear our next door neighbors when they have loud parties. You CAN however, hear downstairs neighbors when they have outdoor parties with loud music in the summer. That can get annoying, but if it gets too loud too late at night, you can call security and they will make them turn it down.
- Recently, we've had a mouse issue, but they are sending an exterminator and are fixing the door flap.

I lived in Harborpoint, and all of your negatives were amplified in my experience- to the 100th power. It was a horrible and unsafe experience. I am also a woman, and by no means did I feel safe, especially when someone shot a beebee gun through our glass sliding door and shattered it. I would not recommend this place to my worst enemy...there are way better places to live in the Boston area, and the management won't treat you like crap like they do there.

An "ultra-fast and very efficient" management? Are you kidding? I live in HP and I enjoy it despite many of the setbacks, but one of the worst IS management. They are extremely unprofessional and lazy. They pretend to open at 10, which is ridiculous never-mind that they don't get in until 11, and they close well before 4pm every day, which makes dropping off checks difficult for those of use who actually WORK during the day.
