My apartment is a decent size but there is nothing special about it. Before my move in, I was told that my carpet was going to be replaced. After signing all of the paperwork, I was told by the previous property manager, Portia that it did not need to be replaced. So be cautious about what you are promised prior to signing of your lease.

There is only 1 washer and dryer per 12 apartments and they are coined operated. The dryer doesn?t work right at all. It hasn?t worked right since I moved in. I need to double the time with additional quarters just to dry my clothes. All requests for a new dryer have been ignored. The response I have received was that all of the windows needed to be replaced first, which have been completed. You lost most of your heat during the winter because the windows were so old. Then the pool needed repairs. With the amount of rent we are paying, I?m sure they could afford a new dryer.

The new management team stepped in and has begun enforcing the rules and regulations of the complex, which I thought was a great idea. But, unfortunately, not everyone abides by these rules and regulations. For instance, everyone was asked to take down their bird feeders because the seed was getting caught between the planks on the decks and causing them to rot. I thoroughly understand the enforcement of this but Kathy, the new Assistant Property Manager seems to be having a hard time enforcing it. I am all for rules and regulations, as we are in a community, as long as everyone abides by them.

The walls are paper-thin and you can hear everyone and everything from your next-door neighbor.

Property maintenance is wonderful. Rick and Tracy respond within 24hrs and have taken care of all my requests for maintenance. I told Rick and Tracy about the need to replace of my refrigerator and dishwasher. They responded immediately and I had new appliances within a few days.

The people that live at the apartments are friendly and helpful and share the same feelings as I do. My suggestion would be that if you are thinking of moving into Spruce Knoll, talk to some of the tenants.

If you are wondering why I am still hear its because the rent is still relatively affordable in today?s marketplace.
