My family and I have lived here since April 2008. We had to transfer apartments because we rented a basement apartment. My son's room was infested with mold growing up from the baseboards and around his windows. We repeatedly complained about it, maintenance came quickly, but only cleaned it with bleech. It kept coming back.
We decided to transfer apartments to a third floor Sept 2008. A few weeks later, they sent us a refund check for our security deposit with no letter stating what we had to do with it. So we used it to pay next months rent. This was Nov 2008. Feb 2009, we get a letter of a notice to quit because we had a running balance. Which turned out to be this security deposit they refunded us! They were going to evict us based on this balance. We complained and asked questions only to have the manager leave for vacation. In the meantime, we were served with court papers delivered by a constable and mailed to us as well stating we owed now TWO months. This came as a shock so we questioned again because we should not have any balance! Maria the consultant who is always in the office was helpful, but had no idea on what was happening. Our balance even confused her! Now we paid what was owed, but have no idea on why our balance was screwed up. We had to pay anyways so we weren't evicted and had to wait until managment came back from vacation. We are told we have to pay lawyer fees even though we paid before the file date stated on our court papers. Nothing makes sense, noone will answer our questions, their office hours are staggered because they also run another property over 1 hour away. WOULD HIGHLY NOT RECOMMEND THIS PROPERTY. We would rather pay more money to live elsewhere.
Grounds are always kept landscaped and plowed, the apartments are small but only big enough for 2 people max, when things break it goes un noticed. Laundry is $1.60! and the windows are severely drafty and move when the wind blows. Half the apartments are renovated and nice, the other half is outdated.
Maria is very sweet, prompt and helpful. But she isn't educated on other processes such as the legal action taken against us. She can only help so much which is sad on the managers (Kelley) part who is never available and never there.
