great place to live
From: -Anonymous-Date posted: 3/3/2009
Years at this apartment: 2008 - 2009
PROS
-Location: minutes from the 95, shopping/ restaurants in Mansfield. The apartments are far from the main road; it's a very peaceful, quiet, and safe atmosphere.
-Space: closets, closets, closets and extra storage in basement. The closet in the bedroom has lots of shelving and mirrored sliding doors. Besides that, there are two "coat" closets and two linen-type closets.
-Utilities: I have never had a problem with the hot water or heat. It comes on quickly, and stays on, even in the winter, even if the person below/above you is also showering. The AC is quiet and adequately cools the living room, but you may need a fan for the bedroom on really hot days.
-Parking: Nothing great, but adequate. at any given time, every tenant could be home and there are still a few spots to spare. I have never had to park on the street due to lack of parking.
-Staff/maintenance: Both the owner and the manager are professional and helpful. The grounds and common areas always look great, and the apartment unit itself is very clean. I have not seen one bug in the year I have lived here.
CONS
-Noise: this is a toss-up. The walls are great; I never hear anything from the neighbors next to me, and the layout of the buildings is so that there is only one wall that neighbors another apartment. The other 3 walls face the outside or the hallway. The celings are another story. When the person above me walks across their apartment, I know it, and it sometimes sounds like a stampede of elephants. Also, there is a train that passes by frequently. 5am. 6am. 7am. You hear the horn every 20 seconds for about 5 minutes. It doesn't bother me often since I work night shift and am mostly away at these times. On the weekends, I got used to it- it never wakes me up. Lastly, the heat tends to pop rather loudly; this has woken me up a couple times.
-Space: in the kitchen. After putting a microwave and a toaster on the counter, there is very little space left! The cabinets are also very narrow horizontally and vertically. I barely have enough room for all my dishes and canned items.
A note on football season- Foxboro is the home of the Patriots. If I were you, I would get a schedule of the home games and avoid route 1 at all costs on those days. The rest of the town is relatively unaffected as far as traffic is concerned.
Considering the price, with utilities included, and location, this is a great place to live. If it weren't for the small kitchen, it would be perfect! I would recommend this apartment complex to anyone!
