Chapel Hill East changed to condos within the past 4 years, which is why most of these posts are pretty old. Most of the renters have since moved out but many of the units are vacant. The management is doing the best they can with what they bought but many of the systems need replacing. In some of the units, the heat is too hot and the owners cannot control their own thermostat. Management is understaffed and cannot deal with critical problems quickly. HUGE lack of communication on the management's part. Whenever there seems to be a problem, the owners are not informed of the situation unless they pester the staff. It's a shame because it is in a nice location and relatively quiet. Walls are cinder blocks so you can't hear anything from your neighbors unless you're standing in the hall. Neighbors are respectful and nice too.

If you can find an owner willing to rent, yes. Currently, the management company isn't renting to any new people. I believe they're waiting for the previous leases to expire and then are selling the units as condos.
