I guess I should start when we moved in. My fiance and I were promised a clean apartment upon move in with a few things fixed. Upon move in, nothing was taken care of and what we found was disgusting! It took us three days to make the place liveable and the amount of hair that was through the apartment was disgusting! Not only was there major amount of hair on the floor-- there was dirt all over the walls and large amount of hair had even been painted into the doors and walls as well! The staff told us that alot of the tenants USED to be section 8-- however about 70% of them still ARE. (Police and ambulances are frequent guests at the Heights.) The laundry facilities are dirty and less than adequate for the amount of people in the building-- considering that more often than not the machines are broken. I've also been greeted several times with an infestation of ants around the washers and was less than suprised one time to come across dog excrement in one of the washers. The office staff is incompetent and though they did a fantastic job of selling us into less than liveable conditions they never have an answer for anything and are FAR from helpful. The maintence staff, though nice when they show up, are absolutely NOT available 24 hours and have made us wait days for certain things and SEVERAL hours for such emergencies as a broken toilet. The snow/ice maintence is incourageble and even after a friend of ours got into an accident on the front drive due to no plowing or ice removal during a storm, nothing was done about it then or since. The staff is extremely unresponsive and when things are reported it seems as though they are instantly forgotten or ignored. The gym facility has ONE tredmil, ONE eliptical machine, ONE bike, and ONE small rack of weights-- if two or more people are in the room you can barely move without running into eachother and neither the small room nor machines are cleaned or maintained... EVER. For the amount you pay in rent to live here the amenities and conditions are unbearable and absolutely not worth it. This is the definition if 'slumming it' and I urge any one considering this location to give it a second, third, and fourth thought before deciding to go elsewhere!
