We have been tenants for a long time and have never appreciated having these music festivals forced upon us, but atleast we could close down the windows and block some of the noise. This year there is no A/C and I must keep the windows closed or lose our minds with this 3 day music festival. Why is there no noise ordinance for residents' This can be heard 1/4 mile radius.
With regards to the A/C issue, we have had to leave our home due to the heat in here, which cost money because it is too stifling to even cook. This is an abusive situation and will be our last year living in this "hell in a bucket"
I have contrived a prioritized list of the endless issues while living here-
Air conditioning situation- is a problem every year. Have to keep windows opened during dirty pollen season due to late arrival of A/C amenity. Come home to a yellow film all over furniture.
Fire Alarms False alarms in the early hours usually always due to minor individual apartment issue e.g. toaster or oven causing an interruption in entire building, which cause false alarms (sirens) and should be investigated first by Concierge
Concierge - Issues with these doorman are that they sit there and do not screen people coming in from behind us. Also do not accommodate tenants they know live here coming in the front door with both hands tied up with groceries, etc. Listen to Spanish music and never say hello .
Concierge definition - A staff member of a hotel or apartment complex who assists guests or residents- an employee stationed in an apartment house lobby who screens visitors, controls operation of elevators, accepts deliveries t the tenants, etc.
Elevator Always somebody moving in or out, causing one elevator to be available. Several occasions there has been an elevator down for repair and on occasion both have been down. Other issues include kids playing in the elevator//get in to go down and all floors have been selected.
Pool Water is green/dirty most of the time kids running around hollering (no control from parents or lifeguards.) Lifeguards playing their own loud music and do not take notice of rule violations, such as running and yelling.
Water pipes breaking in the winter causing water damage in our apartment and in our closet/clothing. Rusty water at least once a month; cannot shower, etc.
Laundry - poor white wash results, possibly in due pat to rusty pipes\water. Laundry card machine in lobby constantly "out of order and out of order machines causing inconvenience in the form of a leap to another floor to find no availability.
Storage - must make an appointment, which can be a great inconvenience under certain circumstances, i.e. last minute trip and need luggage. One appointment made was missed/late and we inconveniently had to wait.
Noise Night club next door, late-night loud music. Ongoing Summer Festivals at commons, causing our windows to rattle and this year, as stated in introduction, causing much discomfort, due to lack of A/C.
Gym - always kids up there- witnessed a women with toddler that threw up right before me while I was working out on the tread mill.
Received a call from Concierge at 3 am of a report we were having a party, waking us out of our sleep; reported our apt from another tenant. This should have been investigated with a walk up here and not an inconvenient call in the early hours of the morning.
