Don't live here!!!!

I moved in with my husband in January- we were so pleased with the price, location, and the apartment itself was nice. We had a few problems, but we submitted them to the management, and she assured us that our complaints would be addressed and resolved.
Such complaints included:

1-Sliding door to balcony did not lock. Being on the third floor this generally would not have been a problem, but we share a balcony with our neighbor, whom we do not know.

2-Handle on the dishwasher broke off in my hand after I used it the second time.

3-Holes in the walls, with exposed wires.

4-Our mailbox key wouldn't work. The mailman could get in there, but I could not.

Nothing of the above was handled, until months afterware, except for the mail box key. The only reason she even fixed my mailbox was because I wouldn't leave her alone for a week straight.

When we went to get cable installed, we had to go into the wall to pull the cables out b/c whoever lived there before us ran the cables, very poorly, into the bedroom.

A month or so later, we noticed a strange mildewy smell in the kitchen whenever we came home. We lifted the rug in there, and there was water trapped underneath it. The fridge had been leaking for weeks. We addressed this problem to the management. It wasn't resolved for a while. My husband called a number of times, and she said she would send the maintenance man. We never heard back. I called again. She said that "the maintenance man said it wasn't leaking" I said it leaked sometimes, but not all the time, and that I'm afraid the fridge will stop working with $200 worth of my food inside(and the thing looked old and yellow...and the bottom was rusted out).

The last straw was when we came home one evening to find that our tub had been running hot water all day...we tried to turn it off, and we couldn't. We called the answering service, and they said they'd send a maintenance guy...he never showed up. My husband called the next day. We'd had enough. He asked for the manager's boss's phone number, and she refused to give him that information. She kept saying "It's not my fault, it's the maintenance men!" And he said "You're their boss. It is your fault." She told him that her boss would be in at 2, but when he showed up at 2, everything was finally fixed. Only after we threatened to take the matter to her boss was the situation resolved.
However - the sliding glass door locked for two days, and then it didn't lock anymore after that.
The outlet in the kitchen - the reset button crumbled under my thumb, and now we can't use it.
They did a piss poor job covering the holes in the walls.

Our A/c unit broke in the middle of August - it was old to begin with. Thankfully, they learned not to mess with us, and replaced it that very same day.

We've never been complained about, and we've always paid our rent on time. Why we've been treated this way is beyond me.

And if you think that's enough - there's more!!!!

The woman is only there Monday - Friday from 10-2 ---- weather permitting that is. If there's snow on the ground, even if it's just a little bit, she won't be there. Sometimes I'll call between 10-2, and I'll get no answer in the office. What is she getting paid for'

I've refered two co-workers, one being MY BOSS to her, and she was very rude to them. She refused to give my boss directions to the complex. She had an appointment to go and see an apartment, but she was so displeased with the way she was treated, that she came to work instead. Another co worker spoke with her, and she refused to make her an appointment to come and look at anything. Both have persued more expensive apartments elsewhere.

My husband and I had planned on staying here the full 3 years we planned on spending in Mass., but we are moving only because of this crabby woman who does not know how to do her job.
Take my advice, do not live in this hell hole. They treat you like dirt.
