Since I've moved in to this apartment complex, my stay has been pretty uneventful.
The office manager is extremely scatterbrained. There was a period of time between when I put my security deposit down and signed my lease that I could not reach her for a week and a half (she was out sick), but you would think this could have been handled by the property management. ' I finally heard back two days before the lease was to begin. I didn't have keys, and was nervous because my company arranged my move and everything was scheduled.
It all ended up working out, and I blame the unprofessionalism of not returning calls to the office mgr's forgetfulness. She is a very nice and thoughtful lady, but simply can't handle her job. Posted office hours are loosely observed, I stopped by several times early on in my lease to find the office closed during the day.
If you have a maintenance call (and the answering service takes it) it will be answered promptly that same day. The two small problems I've had were fixed right when I called.
The staff is very nice and friendly, and the pool and grounds are kept clean, unlike several other area apartment complexes. My neighbors primarily keep to themselves, and I like it that way. Somehow this place has gotten a bad reputation for being loud / young kids partying at night, and that is not the case in building D. The only noise I've ever been bothered by was that of bass from a car loitering in the parking lot, who I believe was picking up a tenant (not a tenant himself). Occasionally I do smell marijuana odors from down the hall of my building at night, but I have not observed any disturbing activity associated with it, so I've left well enough alone.
Parking in Building D is fine, as we have the side lot that is always mostly vacant (it's not adjacent to the other buildings, so no one parks there).
There is laundry in every building. This is also a great location, which is an extremely important factor to me. (Right on Rte. 2, 1 exit up from 190)... you can get anywhere quickly.
I believe I pay a fair price for what I get: A no-frills, but clean (and safe), space to hang my head when I'm not at work. The only other thing you're going to get in this area for that price is a 2 or 3 room in downtown Fitchburg or Leominster. At least here, although I'm living with mostly low-income families, this is a commercial area (apt complex next to a hotel and strip mall), not the ghetto, so I feel safe.
