Not worth the rent!

Years at this apartment: 2007 - 2009
Avalon at Lexington is an old and increasingly rundown development built more than 20 years ago. The apartments are industrial-looking and the kitchens are awful and other fixtures are el cheapo. The buildings are typical Avalon-ugly. Everything costs extra. Some of the office staff has been very professional and pleasant, but others such as the Russian girl in the office can be really rude and moody. They seem to like the corporate tenants the best. Everyone else they are ripping off. Maintenance guys are pleasant but do not always fix things. Hallways are often dirty (this is true at Avalon at Lexington Hills as well). Noise is a problem with every one having to listen to their neighbors way too much because soundproofing of original buildings was so bad. There are relatively few windows -- just one set in each room to meet code but nothing more. As a result, the living room/dining room/kitchen area is not well-ventilated because it only has a slider off the living room for all of that space. Buildings are not well-maintained. They do not have assigned spots for parking, so the lots can be overly full sometimes. There have been alot of breakins of cars and also some apartment breakins. Well, I could continue, but you get the point by now. I am glad taht we moved out!
