Lincoln Woods was orignally designed to be a mixed income "co-operative" (subsidized) develpment giving limited equity to its residents. Unfortunately, as one other reviewer the tenent mix is mostly elderly, hard-core public housing and the mentally ill thrown in for amusement.
If the tenent mix does not convince you, the wonderful managment will. The Project is infested with mold, roaches, rodents, termites, ants and milipedes, when you happen to mention this to Barkan Managment the property manager declares "its not in the budget". Then there is my personal favorite...(As the roof is leaking and the cealing falling in and water dripping on the bed)..."what leak"...ah, truely caring! If you decide to move here, better get a good Totes Umbella 'cuase baby, as the Cult once said "here comes the rain". Makes you wonder how the floor became warped in the common room, does'nt it'' Please don't f fall behind on the ol' rent, 'cause the Property Manager will publicly announce that you are behind, and threaten you in front of a group of people.
Also, we cannot forget the "Co-op Board". who are fond of telling us this "this is not public housing" as they spend their MHFA subsidy to keep their own rents low' "Co-Op" "Local Housing Authority" its all the same (just look at your leases)...just different terms to describe a sham on the poor taxpayer. In the real "private sector" this place would have been turned into a nice parking lot years ago!
Consider yourself warned!!!! Stay Away (unless you enjoy living in a living hell!!)
