I've been a tenant for 2 years and aside from rent increases each year, didn't have any complaints aside from the incredibly thin walls and revolving door of property managers (we're on our 7th since the building opened in 2004).

then my basement unit started flooding everytime it rained. (they still wanted an rent increase even with the water problem!) my calls to management were ignored, as were my letters. after two weeks of soggy carpets i had to call the city health inspector which cited them for violation of the sanitary code. it wasn't just me, 3 other units were having water problems and had to call the health department as well. after a month of dealing with flood water and noticing mold growing along the wall, i was finally moved to an upper floor. i was given 12 hours notice that i would be moving, nothing was packed, and i had to take time off from work.
