I have lived here for 3 years and steadily watched the overall quality go downhill. At first it was a very quiet, clean community. I never heard a peep. The previous property manager was great, but he got a promotion and moved on. Now there are different faces in the office every few months. The grounds, apartments, and staff are all acceptable enough and I like the location. The worst part about this place is the tenants themselves. They seem to be renting to a lower and lower class of people. Maybe they've agreed to accept Section 8 renters or something. Many live like an inconsiderate bunch of animals. They throw trash around the place expecting someone else to clean it up. They use things to prop the entry doors open even though the buildings are supposed to be locked at all times. During the warmer months kids seem to be running around all over the place until as late as 10PM. Sometimes my door gets buzzed at late hours when I'm not expecting any visitors. People TRASH the laundry room. It's unreal. They can't seem so be bothered to walk a few steps to throw their lint/dryer sheets in a trash can. I have rescued 2 abandoned cats in the last year that were just left in the hallway to die on separate occasions, despite the NO PET policy, and I had to take them to the MSPCA. My toilet has never flushed correctly even after maintenance came and supposedly fixed it. I live on the third floor. In the summer it is beyond HOT. The building has no ventilation at all and the hallway temps are well into the 90s all summer long. I have also taken a few cold showers during the winter months due to lack of hot water in the mornings...not a nice way to start your day, believe me. It's really a shame that this place has gotten so ghetto over the years. I am looking forward to my escape in the fall.

I would have to agree with everything in this post! I lived there for ~ 2-3 years and noticed the quality really go downhill. There was just trash in the parking lots all the time, and people would leave bags of trash at the front door, when there is a dumpster right nearby! There is someone new in the office every month or two.
We lived on the first floor, and the people above us liked to stomp around like crazy until after midnight sometimes, put their music on really loud, and throw empty bottles off their balcony littering the ground - who does that? We also had to deal with kids running around and screaming during the summer evenings, and being on the 1st floor, they were right outside our sliding door.. so we almost always had to keep the door/blinds closed or there was just no privacy. There is a no pets rule but I was home one day and could hear a small dog barking from another apartment ALL DAY. The fan in the bathroom did not seem to work, it just made a lot of noise but didn't take care of the steam from the shower at all. We got ants in the kitchen and bathroom and I had to buy ant traps and they finally went away - but the last straw was the day I found a cockroach in my kitchen!!! We killed it and brought it to the office and we were told the apartment across the hall was crawling with roaches a few weeks before! (thanks for letting the resident know huh) An exterminator came 2 days later, and this was also the day we gave our notice to vacate, luckily we found a new place and were able to move out early (but still got stuck paying the last month's rent cause they couldn't find anyone else to move in - wow big surprise). We were told they had more than 25 empty units and had sent several late-rent notices and eviction letters to other tenants.
The location was great for a while - but I couldn't wait to get out of there, the apartment was so small and cramped all the time. The only good part was the big walk-in closet!

I also agree!! I have lived here for alittle over a year and I can't wait to move out. My neighbors fight all day and night slamming doors breaking yelling.. ITS NUTS! I can hear every word they say... Its Jan and I can't tell you how many cold showers I have taken this month... The summer on the third floor is unbearable... my electric bill it way over 150 a month and thats just because of the ac... When I moved in its was a cute little place... now in the hallways there is a nasty hole in the ceiling and the carpet is disgusting! A few fire alarms have gone off because of people smoking weed... the outside door is almost never closed... my toilet donesnt work most of the time... the floor is falling apart... they have never dont anything to the apt except change the light in the bathroom... Don't move in here! you will regret it!

I can't agree more. I have lived here for almost four years, but I sort of decided to leave this summer. I used to love the quite community a lot in spite of the heat in the summer. But since last year the quietness was totally gone. The summer night was unbearably noisy. Dozens of Kids are running and screaming till 10'oclock every day. Although the management is still above average, there is something missing and the quality is going down, it is sad.

I completely agree. I live on the 3rd floor and the people below me make more noise than anything I've ever encountered. It sounds like they BANG against the walls, literally. They also blast music throughout the night starting around 9pm and I can hear atleast 5 of them on their balcony talking loudly. I've heard fights break out in the middle of the night, my boyfriend would get up multiple times just to check on our vehicles and make sure everything was okay. I think the worst part about it is the trash that you mentioned. People must have parties and then when I'm leaving for work at 8am, I walk by beer cans and food wrappers in the hallway. It happens ALL THE TIME. It's so frustrating. How hard is it to just clean up after YOURSELVES!

Why doesn't anyone in managment or corperate offices care ? There annual revenue (profit) is between
$ 500,000 to $ 1,000,000 per year. Maybe it has to drop lower for them to take any actions ?

10/15 - It sounds like you moved into my old unit! 309 by any chance? I am the original poster. I live at Cliffside Commons in Malden now and although it is significantly better, I am truly sick of apartment life in general. Someday maybe I will come to my senses and and move away from this state with the highest housing prices in the country. Good luck to all of you with your escapes from Cabot Crossing!
