Princeton Properties has recently acquired Whitney Carriage Park, Leominster MA.
Whitney Carriage Park was previously managed by the Van Emden Corp who's staff were very professional, thoughtful, and helpful. The appartments are gorgeous and the grounds spotless. The landscaping and upkeep of the properties was certainly exceptional. With this comes a price. The rent ranged from over $700 for a one bedroom to over $950 for a two bedroom and 3 bedroom townhouses for $1500. Despite this, there are a number of Section 8 here, but never a problem. I have lived in three different appartments at Whitney Carriage and have been equally happy with all of them.
I am now very concerned since Princeton Properties has acquired the appartemnt Community since nothing has been done. All maintenance, apart what is absolutely necessary has evaporated. The Maintenance Staff has shrunk to less than 3-4, the hallways have been littered with trash and refuse from contracted service, the pool has not opened and we are nearing July. The rent was raised just as they took over the property. The office refuses resident packages from UPS, etc. The new staff will avoid eye contact in passing and give sarcastic responses to inquiries about the upkeep of the property, landscape or amenities such as Jacuzzi, Pool, Fitness Center, etc.
I do intend to follow up on this report since Princeton Properties claims they are in a transition period. Considering the history of the company presented on their website, I would imagine they would be much more capable of maintaining the property than they have proven so far; regardless of the transition period.
