I just moved in and am quite happy with the apt. (Colony Park) so far. It's not as quiet as I hoped (upstairs is making sqeaky sound, probably due to old floors) and outside sometimes ambulances make noises (it's just outside lowell general hospital), but it's obvious that they usually try to avoid sounding sirens. So far the management people are responsive as I reported a list of problems I found after moving in (which, of course, is not a good sign). But the person who got my call was very nice and responsive and sent maintanence guy with a few hours and fixed them all. The maintanence guy was quite experienced and gave us his card and no. He's quite nice too and started checking everything in the problem areas I mentioned and fixed any potential problems. I'm quite happy about that. I did notice that when I called in again to report a problem I missed the first time, another manager answered the phone and was not as nice or responsive as the first one. So far it seems the area is safe and I noticed some nice houses further down the road and that average selling price here is higher than Lowell average (I checked those before I moved in). The place is also far away from downtown, and as close to North Chelmsford as it is to downtown, so seems safer than other areas.

I'm still too new to the place say anything more, or talk about consistency of the managers helping us. They did agree to provide move-in special when I asked for it, although it's not advertised so. (they have move-in specials for other apt. complexes they manage though). Colony Park is very close to river, with nice view. I just hope it doesn't flood like another review on this board said, then my computer and stereo will be gone. A scary thought, especially after I connect this review with the fact that the carpet of the apt. was changed before I moved in, as they said.

Overall I'm quite happy with the apt. so far, although I'm wary of the problems other reviews mentioned on this board (seems those problems are mostly specific to imperial gardens and westford park though).
