Nice view, big apartment, quiet.

I've been living here for one year now. I really love my place, so I'm surprised at all the bad things people have had to say. The big brick buildings are charming, and the high ceilings really make the place feel spacious. In the summer the view is really nice, with the trees all green and the Concord river down below. The free heat (and A/C) will save you a fair bit of money in the winter. Also, this is probably the cheapest of the mill conversions in Lowell; "Luxury apartments" is an overstatement, and Boott Mills is nicer, but then you pay a fair bit less here.
Perhaps the overall impression depends on the building or floor. I have a two-bedroom facing a river, near the end of the floor, on a mid-level floor (there are 6 floors). The laundry machines on my floor always work fine, and when one breaks it is fixed quickly. I've never had mice (I have a cat but it's never caught a mouse either). I've only seen the building doors propped open when there was a moving truck outside. I haven't really dealt with the weekday manager, but the weekend manager is very nice. As for the complaint about 60 day notification to move out, that's not a particularly unusual requirement. When kids run around in the apartment overhead or a couple in a nearby apartment are fighting then I can hear it, but the sound is better muffled than in other places I've lived. Parking is fine if you work normal hours, and even at 10pm I have no problem finding a place to park, but it does seem that by the AM hours there is virtually no parking.
Now the negative points. Because this is a mixed income development it does have a fair number of large families. A few of these cause quite a ruckus (one apartment by my elevator has incessant yelling), so you may want to avoid a unit with multiple kids living nearby. The lower floors seem to have more of the low-income units, occasional graffiti, are chilly all year round (hot air rises), and the hall on the ground level just feels gloomy, so you probably want a mid or upper level floor. Yes, the pool is overrun with kids and the exercise room has minimal equipment. A few clueless people even think it acceptable to occasionally leave bags of trash outside their door in the hallway (rare but it happens perhaps once every few weeks).
Overall, I would say that of the six apartments I've lived in (in multiple cities and states), I would rate this my second favorite place to date.

I've lived there for over 6 years and I agree 100%.
It's usually the problem tenents that write the bad stuff.

You guys must have lived in Bldg 200. I think those bad comments mostly are from the 100 bldg.
I've lived in both.

Nope, I'm in the 100 building. And I still have no significant complaints since writing the review (although I hope they re-carpet or steam clean the stairs as they are somewhat musty and dirty).
