MORRIS GARDENS

Years at this apartment: 2001 - 2005
I lived in the Morris Gardens complex for almost 5 years. Let's be frank, the building is old but the owners really did their best to keep the complex in good repair. Someone kept breaking one of the washer/dryer in our unit but management always repaired them timely. The day I moved in I discovered my faucet leaked and it was fixed within 48 hours. A few months after I moved in my next door neighbors moved out, leaving behind a roach problem. Management was right on top of the problem immediately hiring an exterminator who eradicated the problem. I never saw another bug after that. I also had a problem one time with my toilet backing up along with the tub when it rained. They also immediately fixed this problem.
It is Lowell for one, and two it is an older garden apartment. There are always good and bad apples in every bunch. The owners don't deserve some of the flack they are getting here. These apartments are somewhat outdated, yes, but they are well maintained. They aren't being offered as luxury apartments, so I really don't understand the gripes. They give ample time to pay the rent, and will work with you. In my entire time there they never once raised the rent. They were quick to return my FULL security deposit, but I also left the apartment in good condition and gave them appropriate notice.
I know plenty of people who pay 3 times what I paid for so called "luxury" apartments only to have the same issues with a less than compassionate management company who never fix anything or charge "upgrade fees" when a "repair" is made.
My only gripes were that parking could sometimes be an issue, especially when it had snowed, and that the neighborhood itself seemed to be on a downturn (not Pine Properties' fault, there was a house across the street that was full of garbage). There also was an issue with the parking lot getting icy overnight from the snow melting because it is a slight incline but they did sand it.
