Totally not worth it

I lived here in 2001-2002 and paid $1880 for a two bedroom, plus more for parking. We were on the second floor near the garbage chute, and the one the weekends the garbage would pile up so high inside the chute that the hallway would stink and we'd need to go up to the third or fourth floor to throw out the garbage!
The management at the time was okay, but the building itself isn't worth the money. You can't leave the windows open because of the noise from the T and train tracks which are right across the street.
Also, Malden is generally a dump. A lot of weird looking people hang out near the T, and it's an ugly, run down town full of low class people.
In 2002, they offered to cut our rent by almost $300 a month if we'd agree to renew. (At this time, the recession already was going on.) We left, and good riddance. If you have to live in the Boston area, please look elsewhere. Brookline and Cambridge are a lot nicer and not more expensive if you don't mind a slightly smaller place.
