I too, have been a long term resident at Granada Highlands. But 4 years is not what I consider long term. I am going on 15 plus years. The anonymous resident shoudl stand strong with his name but he hides behind his words. I am proud to leave my name. I find the new staff a much needed breath of fresh air. They are consistent with their rules where in the past it was all about who you knew in the office and your connections with Flately. I have recently challenged the office to break my lease for my new home also. I have 7 more months left on my lease and I was gracious for the opportunity to pay a small settlement fee vs. the entire lease term of my contract. It sounds as though MR. Anonymous is spoiled and upset that he cannot get his own way.

You are definitely the only person I have ever heard from at Granada Highlands that thinks Equity is better in any way than Flatley. All I ever hear is once Flatley left it went down the tubes. Look at all the other posts on this forum, you'll see the same thing. While I was not here when Flatley was here, I can say that I have seen things change for the better since I have been here. I'm not one of the moronic posters that has nothing good or intelligent to say.

I know about this small settlement fee - 1.5 months of rent and you can't live their for 1.5 months. I agree its better than having to pay out the whole lease.

I believe 4 years of paying rent thats roughly equivalent to a mortgage is a long time. That would make 15 years a really, really long time.
I believe I already pay alot of money for rent. Paying 20% on top of that for the month-to-month priviledge is over the top for me, and I believe in speaking up when I think something is not right.

I am using only other places in the area as a metric: Cliffside Commons told me if I lived there for a year, I could go month to month for a $100 extra fee. A friend of mine in Woburn lived at his place for 6 months, and then was able to go month to month for 6 months after at no extra cost. This is called flexibility and good customer service. By the way, Granada consistenly uses other companies in the area as a metric for determining rent, but it seems that the policies don't come with it.

Any reasonable rental company knows most people are moving out in a few years. Spiting them for it and trying to make some last extra bucks at the end is pathetic.

Any reasonable company on this earth also knows to reward their customers who are loyal, pay on time, and whom they do not have to worry about evicting for any reason.

Call me spoiled or whatnot, but I believed that they deserved some bad press for the experience that I had. Sorry you don't agree.
