Great Start But Changes As Time Goes On (and you get older!)

Nice, neat apartment w. all amenities, but lease is only for 1 year, so when it comes time to expire, they would prefer you to move on so they can rent to the next (young)person. Thus, it is good for you if you only plan to stay for a year or less. All of Boston is like this! It is not a city to settle down in, just a stopover on the way to greater things--like NYC, the Big Apple, where all the top jobs and the summit of all career ladders is located. Of course, if you buy a condo in B-town you may stay a bit longer as you may sell at your leisure --they love youth, THE OLD NEED NOT APPLY! They don't need you or want you longer than 1 year, remember that. You have outlived your usefulness. You cannot generate profits. There are no jobs or apartments for persons over 60!! So, if you happen to be, get out of town--fast!

I'm a resident and feel that this report seems to be more about someone being upset that they could not find work in their field immediately in the area and seems not to reflect on the quality of the apartments or staff. It appears to be about age rather than the apartments themselves. Anyway, Mass. law prohibits age discrimination so the comments about older people not being treated right are simply just plain UNTRUE. If the individual has experienced any such problems they should complain to the MCAD (Mass. Comm. Against Discrim). There are hundreds of older citizens at Granada Highlands who enjoy their lives here as they renew their leases and enjoy the club, the swimming pool, the card and game rooms, cafe and the friendships they make here.
