So if you think you have trouble with management when you're living there, wait until you move out. We've been out of the complex for 2 months now. We have yet to receive our security deposit back (which they said was mailed to us a month ago). And get this, they called us today saying the check just got 'returned to sender' hmmmmmmmm.
-What address did you send it to, Granada'
-To Kennedy Drive
-Hmm, genius, seeing as you're sending me the security deposit for the apartment I just moved out of, would it make much sense to send it to that same place'
It's a headache whether you live there or not. Do yourself a favor and avoid any contact w/ this place.

I think it is their common practice to send checks to your old address. The thinking there is you setup mail forwarding from old address to new one, so the letter will be forwarded. I guess this way they are in fact trying to ensure the letter will be delivered as you may have left incorrect new address or they may have written it wrongly. Could be good or bad, depending on how you look at it.

Yes, I have just been told (5 months after moving out) that this is exactly what they do if you don't give them a forwarding address. They mail it to the last known address, in Granada Highlands, and hope that you set up forwarding service with the Post Office. In my case, I called them about three months ago and left the receptionist a forwarding address, and told them I hadn't received a deposit because there had been no address to which to forward my mail. Two months ago I asked the useless receptionist about our deposit. She said she'd forward the matter to accounting and someone would get back to me. Today I spoke to the book keeper (who was very polite and friendly)and she claims she never got the message. This is probably true. That receptionist has been useless since day one.

Not only did we leave our forwarding address in writing, I called twice before we moved out to reiterate it. Can we all agree that the receptionist (name begins with P and ends in AULA) is less effective than a battery operated stuffed animal?
I promise you potential renters that the majority of you will find the staff offensive, inept, deceitful, or all three. Over our year there we took time out of our lives to contact the Board of Health, the Attorney General and the District Court. I recommend everyone reads the last sentence again, it's 100% true and we still feel entirely disrespected and stolen from. When our deposit was finally returned it had been reduced by a few hundred dollars by arcane debits.
