Soon to be Archstone leaver

Years at this apartment: 2004 - 2006
I moved into Archstone in November 2004. The rent was reasonable at the time of $1055 heat/hot water, plus my dog fee per month, for a one bedroom apartment. In December I had no heat and waited two days before someone eventually came by to fix it. No problems further until September 2005 when I received a letter stating my rent was increasing to $1400. I thought it was ridiculous and fought with management until they dropped it to $1257. I was just barely able to keep up with this. At the time I was told the increase was because a new company bought Archstone and wanted to make "improvements". In June 2006 my vehicle was vandalized on Archstone property. It was the work of some tenants who were being evicted's children. My vehichle suffered $2000 worth of damage. I filed a report with the management office, but was told that it was not Archstone's responsibility for any damage to their resident's belongings on their property! And to top it off, some of the resident children were seen climbing up people's balconies - for what reason I don't know. I have copies of pictures of these wonderful children doing this! Now it is September 2006 and I found out the rent once again is rising to $1450 for a one bedroom, and this is because Archstone has to keep up with the "competition" and anyone walking in off the street would pay that! Hey, this goes out to "you" walking in off the street....BEWARE of Archstone Park Place. Side note...there has yet again been a change in the management in the leasing office, the third since my move in back in November 2004.
