I work in property management, some of my properties being million dollar condominiums with extremely high security and 24 hour conceirge service and I wouldn't even begin to know how to ask my owners not even tenants how to pay for remotes at the tune of $100 a remote. They are calling it a deposit and I'm calling it highway robbery!!!! I have however found a loophole to their scam! All leases must indicate all things you will be charged for in that lease period. Landlords CANNOT add a charge for the use of facilities that were available at no cost when the lease was signed.
