...was at Applebriar Apartments in Marlborough, MA. When I was looking for an apartment, I was living in Kenmore Square with my boyfriend in a seedy studio apartment. The difference in quality between that apartment and this one meant everything to me. The carpeting is a quiet beige, and immaculate. The walls were freshly and _professionally_ painted; no Joe's moonlighting paint jobs here. On the top-floor units, the cathedral ceilings add a touch of class. The kitchen appliances are not super-new, but work reliably andd consistently. The bathrooms are spacious, and the hot water supply is _very_ difficult to exhaust. I've never had a problem with any of our neighbors (either personally or on a noise level). Most of them do have dogs (it sees there is no weight restriction on dogs here). Everyone is friendly, and mostly keeps to themselves. The porches/patios are clean and enjoyable to use, although there are some hornet problems in the summer.

Now, the bad news. I've three times had plumbing problems here; I don't think they used quality plumbers when constructing it. Twice, the tub in our master bathroom has leaked into the downstairs neighbor's house. Once, we hadd a leak from our hot water heater (which is over the kitchen) down into the kitchen itself. Both times, maintenance responded promptly, and fixed the problem. The staff has been courteous and profesional, an even makes those nice touches (like a toy drive at chrismtmas and butter cookies on your doorstep).

Summary: Still doesn't beat owning your own home, but it's the next best thing. =) Feel free to contact me with questions; I know how hard choosing an apartment can be, and I'd be glad to help someone else out.
