Management isn't addressing the issues

There are numerous issues in the community that go unresolved year after year because management fails to address them. For example, the pool is often an unpleasant experience because families do not supervise their children. (By supervise, I mean ask them to speak at a normal volume, not run, play "Marco Polo" for only an hour non-stop and refrain from cannon-balling directly in the face of others.) Adults simply cannot go there and relax because of the behavior of children. Management has been advised of this on countless occasions (and I have personally witnessed the manager's presence at the pool while some of this is going on) but she takes no action. The pool is often dirty and this makes one uncomfortable as well.
There are numerous residents who do not leash their pets and do not pick up after their pets. The office is well aware of this as well and does nothing about it. There are residents with two and three large dogs and residents who cannot control their animals (like the parents who cannot control their children) and no action is taken. These people live here year after year. Some people don't like pets or are afraid and there is no effort to encourage co-existence.
The office staff is prone to discussing the business of one resident with another and this is unprofessional and unethical. There is a lot of gossip from the office staff. I saw the postings where other writers surmise that the office staff is posting to this site and it wouldn't surprise me, I'm sad to say. There is an immaturity in that office that is worrisome to those of us who have been in business more than 20 minutes and know what it takes to do things well. It seems that some residents receive preferential treatment and that the current manager is very partial to young singles and wants to shift the demographic of the community to this population. The office is going to have to start treating people differently and this will happen when they look inward at the way they interact with us.
On the positive side, the renovation of the property has resulted in a prettier environment that reflects the rents we pay. They do an excellent job of snow removal and try to make the residents feel special at the holidays and during Resident Appreciation Week. With no sarcasm intended, it might be better to be courteous on a daily basis and concentrate on client satisfaction during routine interactions and save the flair until they've mastered the basics.
