Absent-Minded Management

The apartment complex looks nice, the residents are nice, the much talked about "landscaped grounds" are nice, but watch out for the absent-minded people making the contracts for rent.

The first year I lived here they had a promotional rent that lured us in. Following that year rent jumped $200 each year. They do not follow through with what they told us to our face. The "gated" community is just an act because the guard is only there from 6pm-7am and they let you drive in anyways, just say you know someone who lives there.

There was road contruction in our parking lot for one year that had all kinds of tripping hazards. There was dried concrete piles, caution tape, trash, rusty nails out of planks, and huge gravel holes in the parking lot. Also there were broken down cars or cars that people constantly worked on, leaving their trash behind.

While arranging our move out, they notified us that they ended our lease mid-week, so we would have to pay them a hefty $200 for 4 days rent because they decided our last day living there was the 4th day of the month, although we specified months in advance that we were leaving the last day of the previous month.

After cleaning the apartment, the carpets professionally cleaned, and scrubbing the walls, they charged us $450 of our security deposit and could not give us an explanation what was exactly wrong with the apartment when we left. I have lived in several apartment complexes and this is the only one that ever charged me more than $50 when moving out.

For twelve apartments there were only two washers and two driers per building.

We should have known in the first place, when the woman showed us an apartment for rent and she walked in on a older man in his pajamas, that we should have not rented from this apartment complex. Yes, the place is ok, but if you want to deal with professional, organized people, do NOT rent here.
