Management Stinks, Maintenance is Horrible, Neighbors Rude

This place has really gone downhill lately. When we first moved in a year and a half ago, things were so much nicer. Management was better, maintenance was better then, and the neighbors were actually polite.

First off, they seem to be taking more money from everyone and cutting tons of services. The security guard is almost never there when they are supposed to be there from 4pm to 8am every night and all day on weekends. I NEVER see them anymore. In addition, the lock to the front door of our building has been broken since we moved in. Every time we tell maintenance, they say they'll fix it or that they've worked on it. People just seem to yank the door open instead of using a key, which leads to broken locks. I've had multiple peopple knock at my door asking for donations or to sell me something becuase they could just get right into the building.

Maintenance will often shut off the water or do work with very little notice. Recently, we were told to empty out our closet becuase they had to install Verizon Fios, regardless of whether or not we wanted it. It turned out that they only needed to access a small corner, but we had to empty out our huge, probably 5x7 foot closet. We've had 5 plumbing issues here with water pouring from our ceiling twice and our toilet overflowing because of a clog in the main system near the washers and dryers. The most recent one required them to cut the carpet in the hallway. This carpet is still cut from about 2 months ago and I constantly trip over the torn carpet.

There are 2 washers and dryers that are shared between 2 buildings. Half the time only one works. When they are working, you have to pay $1.75 for a washer and $1.75 for a dryer, both of which barely work. You have to use a card and can't use quarters, which is annoying. It's extremly difficult to try and get a washer and dryer on evenings or on weekends. I have to set a timer to make sure that I'm in the laundry room at the very second that my laundry is done or people will move your laundry. A few times people have thrown one or two items into my load, which is rude and just nasty.

Parking is crazy difficult. It seems like there's a lot of parking, but there really isn't. I get home after work around 5:30/6 and will often have to park several minutes away. During the winter, it's even worse. I think the sidewalks were clear for all of about 2 weeks all winter because they didn't clean them off at all. Not safe. Snow removal was a nightmare this year. Horrible.

The neighbors are extremly rude here (as you can tell by the laundry). They are extremly loud, and when we complain nothing is done. The staff could care less. There are a few road areas that are a one way, and people constantly go down them the wrong way and get upset and flip out at you when you're going the right way and you're in their way.

They charge $35 a month for each cat on top of a $200 deposit. When asked what the $35 was for, they said that it was in case the cat did any damage. When we asked what the deposit was for, they said the same thing. They couldn't explain why we were being charged twice for something, saying it was corporates fault.

We can't wait to move out of here. We are miserable living here and are so excited to move elsewhere. Avoid living here.

I completley agree. I wanted to add something about Management staff. There is a staff name Kim ? I think she is useless and ritarded. She don't know what the heck she doing... They should fire her ***

A lot of what you wrote depends on the building. Both laundry machines in my building work well, though they are small and expensive to run. The lock on my building has never been broken, and I've never had any solicitors. The letter about clearing out the closet only mentioned part of it, not everything. My neighbors are mostly quiet, and all polite. Parking becomes an issue with me after 6:30, and even then sometimes I get a good spot. I'm not saying your experience isn't accurate, I'm just saying it's not representative of every building. I guess I just got lucky.

The laundry machines sucks. The machines are few and very expensive. Doing my laundry is a nightmare....The laundry part and management ruins everything
