I could write a book about the ridiculous abomination that is Stonegate apartments.

Where to start'

let's start with the worst property manager ever, ------ ---------. When originally looking at my apartment, she offered to let me see the garage, then refused to let me see it when I said yes, several times. Then, after filling out 90% of my "hold" agreement on the apartment, she says, "You don't HAVE to fill that out if you don't want to. We can just give it to someone else." Right. Her fake "great personality" has no end. In fact, one time when I called the office, he held me on the phone whining and asking me why i don't like her. Apparently, she thinks tenants are the popular kids in high school who don't like her. Talk about unprofessional. She refused to have anything fixed that was wrong with the apartment before I even moved in. This place was brand new, and I've never lived in an apartment that was in as bad shape as this one. Not only would the property manager refuse to fix anything, but they wouldn't even return contact with me until I called the corporate office. Corporate made the regional manager take care of the repairs. Some of them were made, others have still not been made to this day. After the regional manager told the property manager to fix the problems with the apartment, ------ left a letter in my door claiming that everything had been fixed. In fact, not one item had been touched. Nobody had even come to the apartment. After reporting this again to the regional manager, most of the items got taken care of. But not in one visit. Many items are still being "fixed" today. How many times do you have to fix something before you actually fix it' They still refuse to fix a MAJOR flaw. The walkway that is supposed to go from the parking lot to the door was NEVER MADE. The one that was shown me on the complex map before I rented, and is still on the maps that they show prospective tenants. They never built it. You have to walk through the dirt and bushes in order to get to the front door. They refused to fix their screwup and just put a simple piece of concrete where the walkway should be. This is even more of a treat when the sprinklers are on. I have had to take this all the way to the Mayor's office. The office agrees with me, but unfortunately couldn't do anything about it under current law in MA. They also informed me that this complex is under all kinds of code violation.

And the latest' Because I am the one who asks for problems to be fixed (you'd think that'd be the least they could do, charging the exhorbitant rates that they do), they are now trying to charge me MORE than $300 MORE per month than my previous lease.

It seems that the more an apartment complex overcharges its tenants, the more they believe they have the right to treat them like dirt.

Don't be surprised if you see me on an evening news broadcast about consumer protection.

I don't understand what went wrong for them either. I moved in a few months ago and every thing has been just great. Office staff/mgr are all so very nice and no problems at all with my unit.

Wow. I'm moving there. So far I've had great experiences with the tour (of almost all their floorplans & garage), the contact, and the friendliness. This post makes me wonder what went wrong for them. I hope we don't encounter such difficulties.

If you haven't signed the lease yet don't!!!!! For the rent you could own a house. RUN RUN RUN
