I'll start off this review with something positive: The apartments are quite nice. I did not experience any issues or failures of the construction. The utilities are extremely cheap and loud, to be sure, however, they so far, have worked fine. There is no noise from surrounding apartments, however, outside noise is unbelievable, and I'm on the 3rd floor. The snow plowing is done, but at ridiculous times at night; 11:30pm, 2:00 AM, 5:00 AM, when it snows, I simply don't get any sleep. And to top that off, the contractors seem to get paid by the hour, because they just drive around and continue to plow although there is no snow left to plow.. The real issue is that they use those little "BobCat" plows that have no engine insulation, and stay in one area for 15 to 30 minutes, ensuring you are awake.. Anyway, I also had issues with getting the AMEX gift checks on time. They had indicated that i would receive them when I signed my lease. I had to call over and over again and eventually receieved them 2 months later. Not cool when you were counting on them when you signed your lease. The notifications you receive on your door are non-stop. I can understand that certain things need to be communicated to the lease holders, however, you also receive what amouts to "community junk mail", crap that you could care less about. Basically they leave papers on your door for you to throw out and take back down stairs.. It is obvious that staff is trained to be nice. In fact, the are trained so well, they can say F--- Y-- in as lovely a manner as I've ever seen. I also must mention the notification I received that I owed additonal money for rent (during the time when they owed me the AMEX gift checks). It was a mistake that they cleared up, but just another issue I had to go to the office to deal with. Living there feels like living in Germany in the 40's ... It is terrible and way over-priced. They remind me of the sub-prime lenders. They seem to make a good deal of their money on the ability to charge you when you move out and/or if you choose to move out early.

I have to commend you on the comparison to living in 1940s Germany. It is very much like that. Complete with Mein Fuhrer at the throne.
