I mentioned to management before I moved in that I had checked this site, and
that I'd put up a review at some point because I wanted to help out other prospective tenants, so fair warning. When I looked at the reviews mid-last year, they were mostly positive. Now, however, I see a lot of serious complaints, and I agree with many of them at this point. Note - IMHO, this is possibly the most expensive apartment community anywhere in MetroWest, and they do bill themselves as luxury. Keep that in mind when you read reviews that seem to highlight too many faults.

My unit is 3rd floor, only one previous tenant. It looked pretty nice when I did my first walk-through, and conceding the rental prices were high, I took a chance and signed a lease.

Positives: Management is very friendly, has replied quickly to phone or email. The complex from the outside looks nice, though that's due newness more than anything else. The inside of the unit looked very nice, has 9 ft ceilings and the cabinets and counter-tops looked good. The floor layout is pretty good, the bathroom is large and the oval tub huge. There is a small deck on the unit. My unit has a clothes washer and dryer off the bathroom.

Now, the downsides, and there are quite a few. The unit is far too expensive for what you get. No storage space is included. The appliances are low end, including the fridge, stove, dishwasher (which does not even have an overhead spray so the tops of your cups have food bits left on them), clothes washer and dryer. The countertops are cheap laminate, and the cabinets are also laminated particleboard. They look good new, will look really bad in 2-3 years.

Heating in the MBR is horrible, and the room is freezing in the winter. This is probably because of the large, but again, cheap window. Which is also likely to blame for the horrendous noise generated by a) bobcat snow removal machines, b) traffic from 495, c) general noise like when it gets windy, and d) in my case, 4-5am trash bin emptying and smashing in the back of the office park directly behind my building. I've asked the manager to replace the window, which she was getting a quote on, but I haven't heard anything and don't really expect it to be replaced.

The expense and noise are real dealbreakers for me, and I seriously doubt I'll re-sign again.

I'm not sure if you heard the noise over the weekend... but we were kept up (as were our children) by what sounded like helicopters or jet engines in are Fidelity building across the street. It was SO loud from 1am until 5:45am on Saturday night that we were tempted to call police, but as we've found before. Police in Marlborough do absolutely nothing except say.. "that's apartment living for you".

You're right. Stonegate is VERY over priced for what you get. Everything is poorly made and cheap appliances. My neighbors below argue 24/7. As to I've called Marlborough Police about 8 times so far. They don't do anything. When I confronted the leasing office, they said "call the cops" there's nothing they could do. For over 1850.00 a month I'd like to get a good night sleep. Not listening to my down stairs neighbors accusing each other of infidelity at 2 am. At this point all I can do is listen to it. My lease is up soon. I'm counting down the days!!!!!!!
