I would have to agree with the previous reviewers, except I perhaps am not as frustrated by the rent, because I was one of the moderate income people living there. Moderate income was about a 30% discount off the usual rent.
I moved to Stonegate and it seemed like an awesome opportunity for me to live in a brand new complex for my first year out of college. I was excited to move in, and for the first few months, it seemed my apartment building was vacant and there was very little noise. Then people moved in upstairs and I could hear the squeaks of their bed every night as they had sex right above me. Shortly after, two dogs moved in across the hall and they barked nonstop. The noise was definitely an issue for me.
Secondly, it is clearly in our 150 page lease that we were not supposed to decorate our balconies or doors, but one of my neighbors insisted on decorating their balcony for every season. I had to look at their tasteless
Kids were constantly riding scooters through the parking lot and it seems like an accident waiting to happen. The pool always seemed dirty and it was always filled with kids in diapers. The fitness center was very small and poorly stocked.
I also found the quarterly maintenance checks to be very inconvenient. On several occasions, I called for maintenance and they did not come until hours after I requested that they come and I had cancelled plans. The weirdest maintenance concern I had was my ceiling was leaking because the people above me moved out and left their AC on and the unit froze and melted through my ceiling.
I would also agree that the construction is cheap, the paint was not durable (scuffed very easily), the appliances were not high quality, and the carpet would fill the canister of my vacuum with excess pile every time I vacuumed until I moved out. I am surprised that there was anything left of the carpet.
I know that pet rent is pretty standard for luxury apartment complexes, however, I do not believe it is right to charge a cat $25 a month to live there.
I am glad I moved out and sincerely feel bad for people who were paying upwards of double what I was to endure the same experience. I am much happier living in an area where there are shops and restaurants within walking distance and I don't have to put up with people in such a close proximity anymore.
