Surprised my experience doesn't match others so far...

Years at this apartment: 2008-01-01 - 2009-01-01
My husband and I moved into Stonegate Apts.
Jan 2008 from rival Jefferson on Wheeler Hill (having been very dissatisfied there).
We accepted a newer 2 bedroom apartment on the ground terrace level.
The apartment was in good condition a few carpet stains, but otherwise pretty decent.
I have read the other reviews and am fairly shocked I don t doubt them but I wonder how we ve managed to escape some of the bigger troubles.
On a whole, my experience has been good, but it may be due to the type of neighbors we have.
The grounds are pretty well cared for, maintenance requests are usually responded to quickly and courteously, and in general things seem to go smoothly.
I have not had pest problems or noise problems from neighbors.
Doggie poo is sometimes an issue, unfortunately, but I think that s on par with any place that allows dogs that I ve been.
The apartment is attractive, rooms are spacious, and the amenities are decent.
The cons:
* Heating/cooling nightmare (unable to regulate apt temperature at all we ve purchased 2 space heaters!) We had a baby this winter and have battled keeping the bedroom warm enough all season.
* Renewal pricing sky-high! They jacked up our rent by like $300/mo and were unwilling to negotiate.
Despite my otherwise positive experience, if we had not been expecting a baby right during renewal we would have moved! Sadly their inflexibility here is what assures that we will be moving after this year unless they suddenly negotiate.
