Out of the places that I looked at, the management at Windsor Meadows put on the biggest song and dance. However, they do not hold up to their word.
One problem that I have is with the parking. Their claim is that only residents can park in front of the complex; however, this rule is not enforced. Anybody who does not get in before it gets dark usually has to park in the overflow lot, which is a bit of a walk to the door.
Something that Windsor Meadows likes to harp on is that they have wonderful security. This is not true. Residents often leave the front door propped open. Management threatens termination of lease if they catch anybody doing this, and they ask residents to call them with complaints and descriptions of those who compromise the security of the building. When you call the office, however, it's more likely that you'll get the answering machine. I've called before where they announced on the machine that the office was closed all day, because they were giving awards to themselves for the "great" work they do. The way management handles problems here is by sending out a newsletter on pretty paper. All show, little to zero enforcement.
I do not feel safe in this apartment complex. While I was away one weekend, someone jimmied with the doorknob to my apartment and nearly got it off. They were unable to break in, but did manage to loosen it a great deal. Another time, I picked up the phone to make a call, and somebody was already on my line. It was somebody in the laundry room, using a utility phone to break into my line and make calls. They had access to my private line, right there in the laundry room. I called the main office to report this. The person I spoke with there said she didn't know who it was, that they'd look into it and would call me back. I have not received a call back.
Also, since I moved in, they now allow small dogs. The people upstairs from me have a pomeraignian they keep out on their porch that will bark at all hours at anybody coming and going. Management does not require people to pick up after their pets either; therefore, the grounds that they made sure to point out as a thing of beauty when I moved in are now littered with dog droppings.
This is not the place they advertise it to be, and definitely not worth the price! Roads are pretty horrific around here too. My advice: don't live in Marlboro if you don't have to. There are more reasonably priced and far more appealing communities outside this snobby city.
