I have lived at the Roosevelt for quite a few years now and I must say while the building has its "historical character" that overall the living is nice. It is quiet, the tenants are nice, and everyone minds their business. Could the upkeep be a bit better' Sure. But isn't that everywhere' The apartments in this place are beautiful, and historic.
As far as drug dealers...i have never witnessed any activity. I think though that if you are looking for a drug free part of New Bedford...that
YOU may be on drugs, as drug free neighborhoods are non existant.
I recommend the Roosevelt to any working person or couple looking for a great location in the historic area. Located across from Grace Church, next door to the Wamsutta, and moments away from the Zoo and Park.
