These apartments are newly built and very nice. However, when we moved in to our 2nd floor apartment, we asked about the soundproofing between floors and were told they were insulated with the latest in soundproofing and that we wouldn't be able to hear our upstairs or downstairs neighbors. Boy were they wrong!
We hear:
*Every door open and close
*Every toilet flush and the sound of the seat being put down (it's usually slammed down by our upstairs neighbors)
*Everytime they run the dishwasher (upstairs)
*Everytime they use their washing machine and dryer (upstairs and downstairs)
*We hear their water running (upstairs)
*Everytime they take a shower (upstairs)
*Everytime they converse in the bathroom (upstairs and downstairs)
*Everytime they drop something on the floor (upstairs)
and...EVERY STEP our upstairs neighbors take!!!!
First, having dealt with listening to neighbors at our former apartment, we had high hopes that this place would be different since it was new. It is quite frustrating to have to listen day in and day out to every step the neighbor makes. I can just imagine the frustration our downstairs neighbors have listening to us walk around in our apartment above.
Secondly, being one of the first to move in, we experienced everything "new" and now we are having to deal with:
*Cracks in the walls because the building was new and now settling
*Floor tiles pulling away from the grout
*Cabinet doors becoming detached from their hinges
*All the doors (closet, bedroom, and main) don't close properly because the building is settling, and they squeek consistently
*Carpeting wasn't laid properly and we can pull it up entirely in one place, and see the crack at the joining of the layouts across the floor
Thirdly, when the heat or air conditioning is running, the intake vent is VERY noisy with the constant humming, and we have to keep turning the TV volume up when the air is on.
Parking is ok, but, if I come home after 8 PM, I can't find a space to park in and have to use the visitors area
The grounds are kept up nicely and the landscaping crews are there almost every other day (can be annoying sometimes).
Overall, it's a nice place if you're looking for a place short term.

I arrived July and so far find the setting very tranquil. I personally do not have any issues as (-Anonymous-) stated, unless I'm hard of hearing or is it I'm not seeking to whine or complain. Nevertheless, the place is great. My cabinets aren't falling apart, washer/dryer runs normal with the typical sounds associated with washing/drying (with compartment door closed I barely hear them), and I don't hear the neighbors walking/talking/etc. As for buildings settling, there are some minor cracks, but with most new structures you will have some area deficiencies, however I don't see it to the same extent as noted. We don't have a parking dilemma, I suggest you seek a spot other than ones next to your entrance and you'll find plenty of spaces. I come and go @ various hours and never encounter problems. Geesh, you even found fault with the grounds crew doing what they were hired to do. Other than replacing the entrance door lock, this place is great. YOU- move if you're already annoyed!
