Say Goodbye to Privacy and Security Deposit

I have lived in several apartment communities over the past 12 years all around the country (northeast, midwest, south, and west) and have seen the good, bad, and ugly (place, facilities, management, etc). Honestly, Parlmont Park wins the prize in a hands down fashion for being the WORST ever apartment I lived in.
As soon as they get you "locked in" (read sign the lease), their fun begins (and yours ends). The water from the kitchen was mud colored many times, heat was never sufficient even when set to highest setting on thermostat, no hot water on many occassions in winter, poor response to maintenace requests, completely unprofessional and bad attitude by the management. I could add many more to this list.
But the ultimate test of patience was this: As soon as I gave my 60 day (long) move out notice, the management started using my apartment as an unofficial "model". Everyday, my wife, my little two year old, and I were subject to visits by potential renters accompanied by management. This continued all day, for the whole 60 days. I thought showing an occupied was a "privilege" for the management subject to the tenant's permission but not so here. The management here thinks it's their right. The showing continued despite my protests, violating all our privacy. They simply said that this is how things work here.
After we moved out, all we received of our 1 month rent security deposit of $1200 was $10.65 ! This despite leaving the aprtment sparkling clean.
If you can find ANY other apartment in the area, avoid this at all costs.
