Very Average

From: -Anonymous-
Date posted: 8/30/2007
Years at this apartment: 2004 - 2007

Positives:
- Apartments are good sized, with a very large walk in closet in the bedroom.
- Although its technically a one bedroom, there is another small room that can be a second bedroom or den.
- Location is great, very close and convenient to 495, 20, 9, 290, and Mass Pike. Couldn't ask for a better location.
- Noise is not bad, we can't hear anyone around us except for the apartment directly above and that is because they walk very heavily and pound their feet. But that comes with apartment living.
- Heat and hot water included

Negatives:
- Rent has gone up each year but very little improvements made. Still not outlandish price, but I was shocked they raised rent in 2007 given the state of the real estate market right now. We'll be purchasing a home in the next few months.
- Overall appearance of the complex has gone done considerabley in the past few years. Broken lamp posts. Large trash items strewn around dumpster. Trees were cut down and stumps were piled in yard for months before removed. Last fall, they didn't rake at all and leaves stayed there until spring. Tacky looking cigarette butt holders attached to outside of buildings.
- Maintenance crew is incredibly loud and when they are working in an apartment, they will blast their radio all day, yell, and swear constantly ("f--- this" and "f--- that").
- Snow removal used to be really good. Couple years ago we had a really bad winter and they always had the driveway plowed by 6AM. Last year, we were lucky if it was done by 6PM.

Overall, very average. It's not a bad place by any means but its nothing special. If you work in central MA, Northboro is a great town to be in, it is convenient to just about every major route. I haven't minded living here at all, but I'm also looking forward to moving on to something nicer in the next few months, especially given how the complex has started to go downhill in recent months.
