Olde Derby Village

As pleasant as living in the Ghetto From: ktse3 Date posted: 3/21/2005 Years at this apartment: 2003 - 2004   This place would be considered a ghetto in any other town. Majority of the residents are section 8. It's almost scary how high the ratio is between section 8 and normal residents! The Norwood Police frequent the place. There is even one building in particular where all the tenants who lived there seemed mental. I have nothing against people who are mentally challenged, but some of these people were down right scary. Apparantly Old Derby must get some type of tax break for renting to these people. During the time I lived there the police were there at least once a week. I also know for a fact that the neighbors across the hall and across the street were drug dealers. Only a moron wouldn't realize that there weren't a lot of drugs being sold from people in that complex. For such a small complex there is a lot of troubled people. The management probably feels the same way. Of course with that mentality they treat everyone like dirt. It doesn't matter if your the perfect model tenant -- they will treat you badly. The property manager is literally one of the RUDEST women alive. She is down right nasty. The maintenance men are also rude and treat you like garbage. Management is not responsive to any problems your having in your apartment. One of the burners on my stove was broken for at least 6 months. If you ever move here you will be disappointed with the condition of the hallways. They are very really cleaned and have a nasty odor to them. Do yourself a favor and don't move here!
