1) After living here 2 weeks, I allowed my 7 year old son to run ahead of me to the village park area by about 2 minutes and when I got there I found three little children (about 6 years old)were kicking him for no reason. The parents were sitting there watching but not doing anything. I took care of this situation. 2) Three weeks later, my son and I were walking by a group of 13 to 16 year olds and they proceded to call him Michael Jackson because he has a white skin color (hispanic/white) but has dark hispanic features. Not sure why they chose this fight, we were minding our own business. 3) Three weeks later the Michael Jackson joke has spread throughout the neighborhood children and my son can not go out to play anymore. I have tried to talk to the childrens' parents, but none of the children seem to know where they live or what their names are. (Go figure). Can't ask management office for help, I was told they would rather let the tennants handle their own disputes. 4) 2 months later the sitter took my son over to the park and left her inhailer at home. She left him at the park for less than 3 minutes as I live right next to the park. He came running home with a bloody nose, skinned knees, and was crying that he was kicked in the stomach and pushed onto the ground by a group of teenagers. I wouldn't have believed it if it weren't for the fact they came running around the corner behind him and then saw me and ran away. 5) My townhouse first floor was a complete ice box both winters I was here, but the upstairs is so hot you could pass out. 6) My livingroom ceiling has leaked twice, both times leaving a hole. Took about 5 months to get them to patch up the whole and take care of the mold around the hole. 7) When I first moved in, they had me use a check off list to find out what items were damaged before I got here, nothing on the damaged list has been fixed or replaced except a toilet seat which I had to call repeatedly for. 8) My disposal until fell apart and when maintenance finally fixed it, they forgot to hook up the dishwasher again, I ended up with melted tupperware - which they never replaced, but did take two days to hook the dishwasher back up. 9) When I wanted my sliding back door replaced (it fell apart), I called the office many times and made atleast three trips up to the office to let them know the door still hadn't been fixed, and I got mixed customer service. Some were good, and others were bad. One lady had the audacity to tell me I should have been leaving messages and making requests personally - I told her to read my file, then start talking, but not until then. When she realized she wasn't dealing with a nut and I had been making the requests, she shut right up and became Miss Customer Service. In the end I had to send a very mean letter to the regional director and cc the manager of WG about the service problems I was having and even though they called me within two days receipt of my e-mail, it still took them another month to follow through with the fix. 10) When we moved in, the back patio was a mess. The previous tennants left charcoal, sand, seashells, white rocks, and weeds about knee-high scattered around the back yard. I had hopes of making it look nice back there, but after seeing what was left for me, I haven't touched the back yard. I left it as I got it - but I threw away most of the shells and rocks and swept some of the sand so my dog doesn't step on something or get sick trying to eat the charcoal. 11) My downstairs was never painted before I moved in. The walls were "white-washed", so now any touch on the wall will produce smudges, dirt that was under the wash, or weird stains. The walls are filthy and I can't wash them because if I do the "white-wash" will come off the wall and reveal the stains underneathe. 12) The wall to wall carpeting is wonderful, but very hard to keep clean. We don't wear shoes or sneakers in my house nor do I allow eating in the livingroom, but that carpet sure does get dirty aweful easy. 13) Small items and things seemed to fall apart after being in the apartment a month. Pieces of the refridgerator fell off from wear and tear. Here's where I become biased... 14) The only reason why the rent is reasonable for me right now is because I have a 3 BD 2.5 Bath townhouse and I have someone living with my family that is paying a third of the rent, however, when he moves out, I will have to move too. The apartments are way too pricey in here. 15) There is definitely not enough parking for everyone in here. And guests having to park on the other side of the community to visit me is ridiculous. 16) There is definitely stealing going on around here. I have a neighbor three houses away from me that has about 100 bikes stacked in the back yard - and they only have 4 kids (that I know of). You do the math. 17) The children play "chicken" with on-coming cars, on their bikes, during the warmer months. 18) NO VEHICLE IS SAFE FROM THE CHILDREN, they're EVERYWHERE!! I see 4 and 5 year olds running around the neighborhood without parents! It's rare to see parents out with their kids around the neighborhood, and sometimes even at the park. Other than these situations above, I would be content with WG. I have found living here that not everyone has had a pleasant stay and not everyone has had a terrible stay. Each situation is different and handled differently. I hope this has helped you make your decision whether or not WG is a good place to live. Good luck!

I hope you fired that babysitter for leaving your child unattended. She is paid to CARE FOR YOUR CHILD - if she needs to go inside for something, the child should go with her. That was just irresponsible of her regardless of the apartment's proximity to the park or the bully situation.
