The managment increased the rent after 1 year(yes, that is their right), despite the fact that it is advertised on the website for the original price we agreed to. Essentially, people who wanted to live here for more than a year are penalized with higher rents, because it was stated that the hassle of moving would outweigh the additional rent costs. Meanwhile, new renters recieve a free month's rent and a lower monthly rate. In addition, the manager of the building (who is very different from most of the staff) treated us with a level of disrespect and indifference that has been unparalled in twelve years of renting. The current manager treats residents like they live in a dormitory, not an upscale luxury community. Her unprofessional attitude prompted us to not renew our lease. We'll deal with the hassle of moving rather than deal with her. She threatened our elderly parents with towing for parking in the incorrect spot, despite the fact that they were in the desiginated visitor area and parked correctly. She had no qualms about barging into our home for a maintenance check after pounding once on the door, catching one of us in our underwear just out of bed.
Bottom line, this place was always expensive, but while we felt welcome, we enjoyed it. Now, we're obviously in the way of the millions of tenants desperate to pay thousands a month to be abused.

Sounds about right. I talk to more and more people who live or have lived there that have nothing good to say.
The manager wouldn't happen to be Cecelia would it? She was a real peach. The other women in the office weren't much better.
Over priced housing project, that's what Avalon is. Their leases are not upheld either. Not supposed to hang clothes on the railings or pile stuff on the balcony/porches. I had one guy with a giant toolbox on his porch fixing cars in the parking lot. Oh yeah, fixing cars was in there too as something your not supposed to do.

Cecilia?? She truly is a peach as are the other women in that office. Maybe you really were living in the projects and just don't want to admit it. I've lived here since the place opened and I'm still here with no intention of leaving. They will do anything that you ask of them and are always very professional. Why don't you move back to the projects!!!!!

Upscale community? I think not.

Cecilia is far from a peach, more like a tight a** b****h, some one should take her off her high horse. Nothing worse than someone that you pay their salary and they have no respect as to who you are. They should put all men in the office, things would run a lot better around there!!!!!
